For the pizza dough:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For the pizza toppings:

  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Assorted fresh vegetables (such as bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, red onions, zucchini, or any other veggies of your choice)
  • Fresh basil leaves, torn or chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: grated Parmesan cheese for sprinkling

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Gradually add warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to preheat as well.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll out the dough into your desired pizza shape and thickness.
  7. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a parchment-lined baking sheet or a preheated pizza stone if you have one.
  8. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  9. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  10. Arrange the assorted fresh vegetables on top of the cheese, distributing them evenly.
  11. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  12. Bake the veggie pizza in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  13. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  14. Garnish with fresh torn or chopped basil leaves and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
  15. Slice the veggie pizza into wedges or squares and serve warm.

  • Feel free to customize the toppings and use your favorite vegetables or herbs to suit your taste.
  • You can add a drizzle of balsamic glaze or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for an extra kick of flavor.
  • If you prefer a thin and crispy crust, roll out the dough thinner and adjust the baking time accordingly.

Note: This veggie pizza is best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, but any leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheated in the oven or microwave.

Enjoy the burst of flavor and color with this garden-fresh veggie pizza!
